Dover Chevrolet and Dover Honda Donate $10,000-valued Equipment to Dover High School
The dealerships of Dover Honda and Dover Chevrolet have donated $10,000 worth of previously used equipment to the Dover High School and Regional Career Technical Center. This donation is just the latest activity in the dealerships' ongoing commitment to supporting the community through financial and in-kind giving.
Dover Chevrolet and Dover Honda, located at 5 Dover Point Road, recently found themselves with two pieces of valuable equipment they no longer needed: the Velocity Genesis Measuring System and a Chief Two Post Frame Machine. In lieu of selling, the dealerships decided a greater impact could be made by donating the equipment to Dover High School's tech center for student use. They also included various supplies including paint prep materials, reconditioning products and racks.
"We're proud that our donation to the high school will tremendously benefit the tech program, which otherwise would not have the budget to purchase this elite equipment," said Brian Richardson, general manager of Dover Chevrolet and Dover Honda. "The value our dealerships find in helping the community far outweighs any profit we'd gain from selling these supplies."
In addition to this recent donation, Dover Honda and Dover Chevrolet have also worked with Dover High School and Regional Career Technical Center's job shadowing program and provided visits from service techs to discuss career paths with students.
Dover Chevrolet and Dover Honda's community involvement is an ongoing commitment. Recent contributions include a sizeable toy donation to the Seacoast Area Firefighters ToyBank, food drives for the Dover Food Pantry, a $10,000 donation to the Merrimack-Valley based Northeast Veterans Outreach Center (on behalf of all International Cars, Ltd. dealerships), and sponsorship of golf tournaments benefitting Oyster River Youth Association, New Generation Shelter, Dover Children's Home and Dover Police Charities.
