GRANT  MONEY AVAILABLE FOR DOVER CULTURAL ARTS

The Dover Cultural Council is accepting applications for the FY 2013 round of grant awards.  An arm of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the DCC provides financial support to a wide variety of local artists and organizations with qualified projects.  Money will be awarded for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs.

According to DCC spokesperson Wendy Bornstein, these grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Dover -- including exhibits, festivals, short-term performances in schools, workshops, and lectures. This year’s grant recipients are:

Dover Church for the 250th Anniversary Historic Music Program

Dover Historical Society to restore and exhibit Benjamin Caryl’s 250-year-old wallet

DSHS for the Robotics Club’s first TECH challenge competition

Dover Council on Aging for Richard Clark’s one-person play, “Atticus”

The Trustees of Reservations for Fall Harvest Festival at Powisset Farm

Friends of the Dover Library for a multi-cultural music and dance series

DSMS/DSHS Jazz Spectrum for a Concert Master Class

Chickering PTO for Leon Mobley’s “Around the World and Home Again”

Dover Foundation for production of “The Music Man”

Grant guidelines are online at www.massculturalcouncil.org.  These cultural council monies are among the most straight-forward fund applications for the arts.  However, grants may not be considered if they do not follow these clearly described guidelines.
