Barney Frank to Announce He is Not Running in 2012
Frank will announce in a press conference today that will not seek re-election.
CNN is reporting this morning that U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-4th) will not seek re-election in 2012.
The 16-term Democrat announced in February that he was planning to run in 2012. However, reports today say he will hold a press conference this afternoon in Newton to announce he will not run.
The Fourth District recently saw a bit of a shift after legislators mapped out the state's new congressional districts, giving more Worcester and Norfolk county towns to Frank including Milford and part of Bellingham.
Frank beat Republican Sean Bielat in a 2010 re-election bid.
