EEE Mosquitoes in Sherborn Update

The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project conducted sprays on several streets in Sherborn Monday night. Meanwhile the Massachusetts Department of Public Health risk level for Sherborn for the disease has increased from "remote" to "low".

With the Mass. Department of Public Health recently announcing that mosquitoes carrying the EEE virus were detected in Sherborn, authorites conducted sprayings of the area on several streets in town Monday night.

Here is an update that can be found on the town's website:

"The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) will continue to monitor mosquitoes through the month and possibly into October.

Risk from mosquito-borne disease will be present until we have had several hard, killing frosts.

However, even with the finding of a EEE-positive mosquito pool, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) risk level for Sherborn for the disease has increased only from "remote" to "low".

Please exercise caution when outside, using repellent and wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants whenever possible."

Here is a list of streets that were sprayed:

 Apple St.

 Russett Hill Rd.

 Bridle Path

 Surrey Ln.

 Deerfield Rd.

 Thoroughbred Ln.

 Greenwood St.

 W. Goulding St.

 Ivy Ln.

 Washington St. (partial)

 Lamp Lighter Ln.

 Woodland St.

 Old Orchard Rd.
