Sherborn Man Facing Charges Of Assault With Intent To Murder
Adam M. Sebastian, of 79 Western Avenue in Sherborn, was arrested on Wednesday, July 6, after allegedly throwing a knife at his father and hitting him on the head with a pan.
Police arrested a Sherborn man last Wednesday and charged him with assault with intent to murder, among other charges, after the man got into a physical altercation with his father.
Adam M. Sebastian, 22, of 79 Western Avenue in Sherborn, is currently being held on a probation violation after allegedly throwing a kitchen knife at his father and hitting him in the head with a pan during an argument that turned physical, last Wednesday night, police said.
On Tuesday, July 5, Sebastian was in Framingham District Court and was put on probation. The next day he was arrested and charged with attempting to kill his father.
“This was a report of a male out of control," said Sherborn Police Sergeant David Bento. “It started off as a verbal and then escalated into physical and at one point Adam…he threw a kitchen knife at his father, which missed him, and then he hit him in the head with a pan.”
Sebastian is charged with assault with intent to commit murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery, malicious or wanton damage or defacement, resisting arrest, and threatening to commit a crime.
“There was some destruction of other property,” Bento said.
In court on Thursday, according to a report in the MetroWest Daily News, prosecutor Maggie Pastuszak said that the argument stemmed from a phone ringing and that Sebastian swore at his father because he did not answer it.
The victim, homeowner Mark Sebastian, 53, was not seriously injured in the incident, according to police.
“He refused medical treatment. It appears there were minor injuries,” Bento said.
Adam Sebastian will be due back in court on July 28 for a probation violation hearing, according to the report in the MetroWest Daily News.
