Woodland Theatre Company Presents 'Nunsense'

Note: The following is a release from the Woodland Theatre Company.

Woodland Theatre Company’s 2011 season continues with the hysterical musical comedy, Nunsense.  Performances are June 3rd & 4th at 8:00 PM and June 4th & 5th at 1:00 PM, at the Sherborn Community Center, 3 Sanger Street, Sherborn, MA.

With book music and lyrics by Dan Goggin, Nunsense follows the antics of “The Little Sisters of Hoboken” … who are in a jam!  Due to a botched recipe from their cook, some 52 nuns have suddenly gone on to their heavenly reward!  But, with no money in the nunnery’s coffers for a decent burial, what’s a Reverend Mother to do?  Why, put on a talent show, of course, to raise the cash for the funeral fund. With hilarious songs, madcap dance routines, and comic surprises, she and four of her fellow nuns prove that laughter is truly the best medicine.

“I first saw Nunsense while living in the New York City and fell in love with its irreverent, tongue-and-cheek humor”, says Producing Artistic Director, Doug Hodge.  “I knew that it would be a great addition to our season, and with the terrific, multi-talented cast that has been assembled on our stage, I am sure it will surprise, delight and entertain our audiences.”
