 ation for Foreign Study\, the leader in high  school exchange\, is curre
 ntly accepting applications for host families  for the 2011-2012 school 
 year. Host families open their homes to a 15-18  year old from one of 25
  countries around the world. Students come for  one or two semesters and
  attend the local high school. Through the  exchange experience\, both s
 tudent and family get the chance to learn  about a new culture and promo
 te global understanding\, right here in this  community.\n&nbsp\;\nAccor
 ding to Ellis\, EF Foundation host families represent the  diversity of 
 American culture &ndash\; with varied economic\, religious and  social b
 ackgrounds.&nbsp\; Among those who embrace the exchange experience are  
 parents looking to give their children a glimpse of the world\, without 
  having to travel the globe. &nbsp\;In addition\, there are many success
 ful host  families who have no children\, or adult children who no longe
 r live at  home\, who are looking for new ways to connect to their commu
 nities\,  while gaining fresh perspectives on the world.\n&nbsp\;\nHost 
 family applicants undergo a screening process to ensure that  they are w
 ell suited for an exchange experience.&nbsp\; To host\, one adult in  th
 e household must be at least 25 years old.&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nAs an intern
 ational exchange coordinator\, Ellis is supporting a  priority United St
 ates foreign policy goal of expanding communications  between U.S. citiz
 ens and people from other countries.&nbsp\; He along with EF  Foundation
 &rsquo\;s full-time professional staff\, is responsible for matching  th
 e right students with the right host families\, enrolling them in high  
 school and providing students\, schools and host families with ongoing  
 guidance and support throughout the year-long exchange experience.\n&nbs
