In these popular classes, toddlers will learn to make delicious and fresh recipes in our beautiful teaching kitchen. Recipes will focus on nutritious and tasty foods, using ingredients sourced from our farm whenever possible. These hands-on classes will ensure your toddler has fun creating their own tasty masterpieces!

Spring has arrived at Powisset Farm!
This time of year at Powisset, Farmer Tim and his crew are busy planting crops while Mother Nature is getting the forests and field plants growing!  Join a Trustees Ranger on a guided hike through the fields of Powisset Farm to look for signs of spring wildflowers and new growth. While hiking, we will learn about the importance of the wild landscape of the fields surrounding the farm and why these open spaces are important to the farm’s success. 
After the hike we will go back to the barn to make wildflower seed balls you can take home and plant.
Please note, though we love dogs, they are not allowed at Powisset Farm.

Master the art of the French soufflé!
Despite its reputation, a soufflé is not as difficult to create as you may think, and guest chef Clarisse Maugis will ensure your success in this delicious class. With a name from the word for “to breathe” or “to puff,” soufflés breathe life into any meal as a savoury main course or a sweet dessert. Join us for this hands-on class and learn how to create the perfect soufflé in your home kitchen.  C’est Magnifique!
Chef Clarisse is from the countryside north of Paris, where she grew up cooking beside her mother and grandmother. After earning a degree in hospitality, apprenticing in Michelin 3-star restaurants, learning from a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and working in fine dining kitchens in France and St. Barth’s, she moved to the U.S. to learn to speak English. Chef Clarisse says “French cooking is not difficult! Anyone can learn the techniques. All we need is to put our heart into it!”

The culinary technique of poaching is defined as “a way of cooking by putting food in gently boiling water or other liquid,” and is considered a healthy, fresh, and bright option for preparing many foods. In this hands-on class in the Powisset Kitchen, our own Chef Thi will introduce you to the art of poaching. You’ll create a variety of poached dishes to incorporate into your culinary repertoire, including Butter Poached Radishes with Lemon Gremolata, Poached Chicken with Scallion Ginger Sauce, and Poached Egg on Toast with Hollandaise Sauce.
