Today in Dover-Sherborn: Banana Writing, Stories at Fenway and More!

Five things you need to know about August 28--the first day of school--in Needham, Dover and Sherborn.

1. Today should be partly sunny with a high of 83ºF, and tonight mostly cloudy with a low of 61ºF, but the National Weather Service also tells us there could be a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms all day and night.

2. If you're here, you probably like Dover-Sherborn Patch. Do you like us on FacebookHow about on Twitter? Follow us on our social networks, and we'll make sure to keep you in the loop about what's going on in town.

3. Drop in for Drop-In Story Time at Needham Public Library. 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Join the Library team for music, movement and stories for about a half-hour. You should stick around, though--they want all of the kids to be accompanied by an adult.

4. Swing in to learn more about how to get a Top Banana to teach you all it knows about writing. The Top Banana Education Foundation in Newton is hosting an open house today to teach more about its English, handwriting, science and technology programs. Starting at 2 p.m., at their Winchester Street spot in Newton.

5. Your local League of Women Voters reps are going to the ballpark. Join the League for LWV Night at Fenway Park. They have a chunk of the bleachers set aside, tickets are $30 for regular seats, or $32 for covered seats. See their site for more information and to order tickets.
