DSMS PTO's(POSITIVE) Harvest Social Fundraiser

The Dover-Sherborn Middle School’s PTO Board, P.O.S.I.T.I.V.E (Parents Offering Support In Time, Involvement, Volunteering, Enthusiasm), hosted a Harvest Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Saturday, October 19th.  The event’s festivities took place on a privately owned, picturesque horse farm in Dover.  Over 220 guests sampled an assortment of fine wines that were hand selected by Mike Reardon of The Wine Cellar while they enjoyed authentic wood fired pizza crafted on site by Pizza Barbone of Hyannis.  DSMS Headmaster Scott Kellett and Superintendent Steve Bliss were among those who attended the event. The sold out fundraiser was a tremendous feat for the Middle School, raising close to $25,000 from the ticket sales, silent auction, live wine auction, and raffle.  POSITIVE Co-President Annemarie Thompson was delighted with the success of the fundraiser and said, “This is the first time that POSITIVE has hosted such a huge event, bringing our two communities together. The guests were thrilled by the effort that the POSITIVE Board put into this event.  My co-president, Lisa Turo, and I would like to thank the board members and volunteers for their dedication and relentless enthusiasm.”  The money raised will go toward funding curriculum enrichment grants and sponsoring speaker forums and student events at the DS Middle School.
