Promoting Executive Function Skills in Teens & Tweens

Getting It Done:  Promoting the Development of Executive Function Skills in our Teens and Tweens.
Practical Strategies for Improving Motivation and Academic Performance at Home and at School.
Sarah Ward is a nationally known innovator in Executive Function Strategies for adolescents and children.  She will explain key strategies to help our Tweens and Teens handle increased homework demands while becoming more independent students.  Also covered will be concrete strategies to help parents support students in creating a positive and productive environment for academic performance. Topics will include tips for:

  •    recording and completing nightly assignments
  •    planning for long term projects
  •    initiating difficult assignments
  •    preparing for tests   
  •    ensuring work is returned on time

The Dover Sherborn Special Education Parent Advisory Council is proud to sponsor Sarah Ward, MS CCC/SLP and the Co-Director of Cognitive Connections: The Center of Executive Function Skills Development in Lincoln, MA.   Sarah Ward has presented at over 350 schools and professional conferences.  Her strategies are practical and "mom tested" on her two teenagers.  This lecture is presented free to the public thanks to parent support of the DS SEPAC.
