Grab & Go Kids Planner

5K Run, Skating & Santa are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall will hold a storytime on Fri., Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m. This week's featured book is "Brand-New Baby Blues by Kathi Appelt.  Admission is FREE.
  • Comfort Zone will hold a Grief Relief 5k / Family Day at , 88R South St., Medfield, MA from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. Funds raised will benefit Comfort Zone Camp. Participants and the community at large are invited to participate in family-friendly events, including a kid’s fun run, Touch A Truck, face painting, balloon animals, Child ID cards, music, food raffles and more.

This Grief Relief 5k will raise support and awareness for Comfort Zone, a national nonprofit bereavement program for children and teens that have lost a parent, guardian or sibling. Camps are free of charge for campers and provide participants with a fun weekend of camp activities coupled with confidence-building programs and age based support groups to help break the emotional isolation grief often brings.

Raffle and silent auction items include a Gingerbread House, tickets (BC Hockey, Red Sox, Blue Man Group, Rockettes, Peter Pan, Ski Lift Tickets), an “old school” Bruins jersey, math tutoring, Nintendo, other computer software, iPod touch, Excel Laser Skin Clinique, Restaurant Gift Certificates, power drill  and so much more.

Admission: Registration fees include $30 for adults, $20 for teens ages 13-17, and $15 for children ages 12 and under, and $5 for leashed (and friendly) dogs.
  • Santa's Wonderland has returned to the at in Foxborough.  Your children can enjoy a weekend filled with games, activities and crafts.  Make a Popsicle Santa on Sat. and Sun. from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. or take a free photo with Santa on Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. or Sun., 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Admission is Free.
  • Dust off your skates and head over to the 2nd Annual Cell Phones for Soldiers Charity Public Skate Event on Sun. Nov.13 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. at the , 35 Windsor Ave. Natick. The whole family will enjoy Live Ice-Side DJ with TJ the DJ! Rental Skates will be available on a first come, first served basis!  Donate a used cell phone for the Cell Phones for Soldiers Program and receive a free public skate pass for a future visit.  Admission is $5 General Admission and $4 Rental Skates.
  • It's Kidstoons Time at , 24 Patriot Place in Foxboro. The film "Thomas and Friends Day of the Diesels" will be featured on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 p.m.  Admission is only $3.50 plus you will receive a concession coupon for a $3.50 Kids Combo.
