Fantasy Footsteps, Haunted Pirate Tales & Halloween Festivals are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Norwood’s Backstage Boosters presents a Halloween tradition, Fantasy Footsteps, on Friday, Oct. 28 & Saturday, Oct. 29 at the , 275 Prospect St. in Norwood. Guided storybook tours for all ages will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m. each evening. Skits are performed by Norwood students & proceeds go to benefit Norwood Public Schools drama programs. Admission is $5 and $4 for children under age 5.
  • in Sharon will hold their 2nd Annual Halloween Family Festival on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A free event for the whole family, there will be pumpkin painting, games, sports, moonwalk, horse drawn hay rides, face painting, rock climbing and an appearance by the Boston Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster. Come wearing a costume and ready to have fun. Food and drink will be available to purchase at one of the food truck and cart vendors, like Snappy Dogs.  Admission is Free.
  • The Theatre Society is proud to present "Gold In the Bones", a trilogy of haunted pirate tales written by Washington Irving and adapted by Eric Coble. This fall show, appropriate for all age groups, will be presented on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday October 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the Medfield High School. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at in Medfield.
  • The Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill, located at 293 Moose Hill St. in Sharon, will host their 29th annual Halloween Prowl on Oct. 28 through Oct. 29. This annual event is experienced in a creative, non-scary, safe and educational manner. Experience a barn filled with jack-o'-lanterns, discover the history of Halloween from a Druid and then encounter costumed characters performing nature skits as you are guided along a candle-lit trail. Following the hour-long guided walk, return to the Nature Center for refreshments and sing along with folk singers around the campfire. Wear a costume to be part of the fun during an on-going costume “parade” as participants are checked in. The guided tours start every 15 minutes, rain or shine!  The dates and times are as follows:  Oct. 28: 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Oct. 29: 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Oct. 30: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  

    Pre-registration is required by calling Moose Hill at 781-784-5691. Tickets are $9, children under 3 are free.
  • Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall is holding a special Halloween Storytime on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Come dressed in costume and enjoy treats and activities while reading goodnight Goon and Scaredy Cat, Splat.  Admission is free.
