Pet of the Week: Meet Pretty Polly

This week's pet of the week is a kitty name Pretty Polly.

Pretty Polly just finished caring for her litter of kittens. Now that they have found homes, she has been spayed and is ready for a home of her own. She was in a foster home and her foster mom wanted to keep her, but Polly didn't get along with her other cats, so we think she might need a home where she will be the only cat. This green-eyed beauty had a thick, fluffy coat when she first arrived with her young kittens, and looks like she might be a Snowshoe mix. Her coat is thinner after caring for her kittens, but should grow back the way it was before.  To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our Cat and Kitten Adoption Application or call 508.359.8989.

Shelter News

We are excited to announce that it is once again time for the Shelter's matching challenge fundraiser.  A small group of shelter supporters have offered to match every dollar that is donated to the Medfield Animal Shelter between November 15, 2011 and January 15, 2012 — up to $15,000!  This year's challenge grant will help us to continue meeting the needs of the many cats, dogs and other critters we are asked to help every day.  Several months ago we made a significant investment to create a small surgical suite we are using to host low cost spay/neuter clinics for cats every month in order to help address the cat overpopulation problem in the only way that has proven to be both humane and effective.  We want to be able to help as many pets in need as possible in 2012, so we need your support. Tax-deductible donations can be sent to: Medfield Animal Shelter, PO Box 271, Medfield, MA 02052.  You can also donate online by going to MedfieldShelter.com and clicking on the Donate link.  Interested in adopting a pet?  You can see photos of all the pets in our care on MedfieldShelter.com.
