Sherborn's Farm Pond Open for Swimming

After a high bacteria count yesterday closed the pond, the results of the bacteria count today came in today.

After further testing, the bacteria count in Farm Pond has restored to a normal level, so it has been reopened for swimming today.

According to the town's website, the results of the bacteria count today is 179 MPN per 100 milliliters. MPN stands for "most probable number" and is a method used to determine how many cells are in a sample of water. After a high count of bacteria found in the water yesterday, the results today show a lower level of bacteria in the water, which is safe for swimmers.

The pond's water is tested daily for bacteria.
