The weekend is just around the corner. 1. Ross Robinson at Perks Coffeehouse

Where/When: , 685 Washington St., Norwood; Fri., Dec. 30, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Spend a relaxing evening listening to folk/blues music performed by guitarist, singer and songwriter, Ross Robinson.

2. 2012 New Year's Eve Party at Jake n Joes

Where/When: , 475 Boston Providence Tpke, Norwood; Sat. Dec. 31 from 9:30 pm - 2:00 am.

Why Go: Jack n Joes Sports Grille invites you to ring in the New Year at their Black and White party featuring music by DJ Kupah James Live with DJ Nixx.  The evening will also include an appetizer buffet, Midnight Champagne Toast and party favors while watching the ball drop on an 85" TV.  Prizes including a Tom Brady autographed football will be given out throughout the night.  Jack n Joes suggest you stop by to purchase tickets in advance before they run out.

Pricing: Admission is $30 in advance or $35 at the door.

3. Sherborn Inn's New Year's Eve Spectacular

Where/When: , 33 North Main St., Sherborn; Sat. Dec. 31 from 9:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

Why Go: The Sherborn Inn welcomes in the New Year with a midnight breakfast buffet, party favors and live entertainment from "Group Therapy." For more information, please contact the Sherborn Inn at (508) 655-9521.

4. New Year's Eve Comedy Show at the Orpheum

Where/When: , 1 School St, Foxboro; Sat., Dec. 31, 8:30 p.m.

Why Go:  R-Rated hypnotist, comedy headliner Chris Tabb along with Tim Dillon and Sharon Simon will perform live at the Orpheum's New Year's Eve Comedy Night. House band Red Fox Motel will perform, and a beer and wine cash bar will be available.

5. Higgins Wine & Spirits Appreciation Day

Where/When: , 16 Springdale Ave, Dover; Sat., Dec. 31 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Why Go: To ensure you pick out the perfect bottle of wine or champagne for the holidays Higgins Wine & Spirits invites you to taste some delicious wine and have some cheese from Wasik's Cheese Shop. Lot's of wine and Champagne will be available to try before you buy.
