Child ID Program

The and the Massachusetts Freemasons are hosting MYCHIP (Masonic Youth Child Identification Program) during the Dover Days Fair in Great Hall at the Dover Town House on Saturday, September 8th from 10a to 2:30p. Together we make the MYCHIP service availahle to the public at no cost to promote child safety.

The program provides tools to help law enforcement authorities find and identify a lost or missing child.  None of the information is copied and all the identifying materials are given to the child’s family to hold in case of emergency.

Our free program provides parents with the following materials for children 18 and younger:

  • VIDEOTAPE: A brief videotaped interview is a recovery tool that provides far more individual characteristics and mannerisms than any still photograph could possibly accomplish
  • FINGERPRINTING: Fingerprinting is a tried and true method of individual identification
  • TOOTHPRINTS: A dental bite impression (Toothprints®) provides an impression of the biting surface of teeth that, like fingerprints, are unique to each individual. In addition, enough saliva is on the bite impression to provide a DNA sample and a source for scent in canine recovery.
  • CHEEK SWAB: A Q-tip is gently rubbed on the inside of a child’s cheek to gather DNA material, and when properly stored will furnish positive DNA identification for many years.

Together they provide a most powerful identification and recovery tool.
