Grab & Go Kids Planner: Summer Adventures Await

Think you could navigate through a mega maze in Sterling or do some star searching in Natick? Summer is not over yet. Let the adventures begin.

  • Put the kids to work at Tougas Farm’s blueberry fields (234 Ball Street in Northborough). On Saturday, Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After blueberry picking, visit the barnyard to see the goats climb their mountain of stone and then enjoy farm fresh homemade baked goods, ice cream, and strawberry donuts at the Tougas Farm Kitchen.
  • The Amazing Things Art Center presents “Malik the Magic Guy” on Saturday, Aug. 13 (160 Hollis Street, Framingham) at 10:30 a.m. This award winning comedy magician blends visual magic, juggling and humor guaranteed to delight and amaze. Admission is $10.
  • Enjoy music, food and a dragon parade at the August Moon Festival (Harrison & Beach Streets, Chinatown, Boston) on Sunday, Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you get there early, grab some fantastic Dim Sum at the China Pearl Restaurant on Tyler & Beach Streets. There will be children’s folk dance demonstrations, Chine Dough Art and Chinese Opera too.
  • How about an evening with the Perseids meteor shower and summer star constellations at Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary (280 Eliot St Rt16 St. Natick) on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  With a mostly dark sky, Broadmoor will be a fantastic place to view this summer  astronomical event. For adults/children, 12 and up. Pre-registration is required. Admission is $12-15.
  • Do you have what it takes to navigate an enormous corn maze? Opening this week, Davis Farmland’s Mega Maze is a must-do event. Do you have what it takes to survive? Experience the World's most complex, 3-D adventure cornfield maze in Sterling. This year’s theme is Blackbeard’s revenge.
