Sherborn Board of Health Announces Flu Clinics

Adults and children will have the opportunity to get the flu vaccine right here in town.

The following information was submitted by Ellen Hartnett, Sherborn Board of Health Administrator:

The Sherborn Board of Health will be holding two flu vaccine immunization clinics in October 2012.

An adult-only clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Town Hall, 19 Washington Street from 9:30am – 11:30am.  A second clinic, scheduled for Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Saint Theresa Church, 35 South Main Street, Sherborn, MA is open to both adults and children over 6 months of age.

Pre-registration is required for both clinics.  Please stop by the Board of Health office Monday – Thursday from 8:30am – 4:30pm to register, or call the office at 508-651-7852.  Be sure to bring your Medicare and other insurance card(s) when registering.

Getting vaccinated against the flu each year is one of the most important steps people can take to help protect themselves from flu and its complications.  It also helps avoid spreading the disease to more vulnerable populations as well as to parents, siblings, grandparents, babysitters, and child-care providers.

Note:  Children younger than 9 years of age may need 2 doses approximately 1 month apart, depending on their influenza vaccination history.
