Webster Hires Commercial Banker Barbara Flight

BOSTON, Mass., July 2, 2013 – Webster Bank, a leading New England financial institution serving businesses and consumers from Westchester County, N.Y. to Boston, Mass., announced that Barbara Flight of Dover, Mass., has joined as senior vice president, commercial banking. She brings nearly 30 years of financial services experience to the position and is based in Webster’s Boston office. In this role, Flight serves as team leader and relationship manager for the sponsor and specialty finance group in Webster’s commercial banking division. She is responsible for sourcing, structuring, documenting and maintaining customer relationships and managing a team of relationship managers and portfolio managers. Webster’s sponsor and specialty finance group provides cash-flow based loans to public and private companies in the telecom, technology, healthcare and business service sectors to assist with acquisitions, buyouts, shareholder distributions, re-financing and other cash needs. Prior to joining Webster, Flight was a senior vice president for People’s United Bank. She has also worked for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., MGC Capital Corporation and State Street Bank and Trust Company. Flight holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Boston University School of Management.
