Don’t Let Summer End Without…

Why does summer seem to go by so quickly? From picnics to drive-in movies, don't let summer end without checking out these awesome activities!

Why does summer seem to go by so quickly? From picnics to drive-in movies, don't let summer end without:

  • Making s’mores! Whether it’s a back yard fire or the microwave version, nothing tastes of summer days like melted marshmallow and chocolate on a graham cracker.
  • Heading to a drive-in movie! The Mendon drive-in theatre (35 Milford Street, Mendon) is open seven days a week and its $20 a car. That’s a pretty good deal considering how much it costs to get into movie theatres around here. Two family friendly movies are there now: Smurfs and Zookeeper.
  • Seeing a baseball game! You don’t have to head to Boston and pay enormous amounts of money to get in on this summer ritual. The Cape Cod Baseball League plays all summer long at locations throughout the cape. You could also check out the Paw Sox at their Pawtucket, RI stadium for $7 per person.
  • Heading to a fair! The Middlesex County 4-H Fair (Westford, MA) features animal shows, exhibits, produce contests, facepainting and more and is being held Aug. 26-28. Admission is only $7 but a three day pass is just $15.
  • Having a picnic! Pack up some sandwiches, cookies and a blanket and head to your town's recrational parks for a picnic. If you’re willing to make the drive, Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro is the perfect summer excursion. Play some Frisbee, enjoy your picnic on the many open fields and then head into the zoo area for $4.50 per person.
  • Navigating a maze! Opening this week, Davis Farmland’s Mega Maze is a must-do event. Do you have what it takes to survive? Experience the World's most complex, 3-D adventure cornfield maze in Sterling. This year’s theme is Blackbeard’s revenge.
