Five Things You Need To Know About Today: Independence Day

Be sure to check here daily for useful information about what is going on in Dover and Sherborn today.

1. Happy Independence Day! Today our country celebrates its 235th birthday! 

2. The Dover Town House and Sherborn Town Hall will be closed for the day.

3. Below is a list of other places closed on Independence Day in Dover and Sherborn.

4. Sherborn will celebrate the 4th of July with this year's themed "Agricultural History of Sherborn" parade beginning at 2:00 p.m. The parade route will follow Route 27 to the Jameson Fields.

Fire engine rides will begin at 5 p.m. Events are sponsored by the Sherborn Fire and Rescue Association.

5. Several nearby communities will be hosting fireworks displays today, according to a recent list on BostonCentral.com.

  •  8 p.m., Leary Field
