Five Things You Need To Know About Today: March 8

Be sure to check here daily for useful information about what is going on in Dover and Sherborn today.

1. The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner will be tonight at the ,  Sherborn, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. According to the Pilgrim Church's website, Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day signals the beginning of Lent, which is also the day before Ash Wednesday. Historically on this day, bounties of pancakes were served in order to use up the supplies of eggs, butter, and fat, all foods that are forbidden during Lent. All are welcome.

2.  The band Swing Times Five will be playing at the Sherborn Inn tonight as part of their continuing series Jazz at the Inn from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

3. Town meetings in Dover today include the Finance Committee on Roads which will be meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Town Garage. The Board of Library Trustees will meet in the teen area at the Dover Town Library at 9:00 a.m. this morning. In Sherborn, the Recycling Committee will be meeting at the at 7:00 p.m.

4. At the Dover Town Library will be a presentation on Wills & Trusts, and Estate Tax Updates presented by attorney Perry Ganz from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

5. There is a Regional School Committee meeting tonight to discuss the fiscal year 2012 budget at 7:00 p.m. The meeting, which will be in the Dover-Sherborn Middle School library, will be attended by the Dover Warrant Committee and the Sherborn Advisory Committee.
