Five Things You Need To Know This Weekend: August 27 and 28

Hurricane Irene, Godspell, and D-S scrimmages.

1. Hurricane Irene is scheduled to hit the Dover-Sherborn area on Sunday. The storm is expected to bring 5-10 inches of rain and high winds. Here are some tips to prepare for Irene and here are some ways you can utilize Patch to stay on top of the storm's developments

2. Saturday is your last chance to see the Dover-Sherborn Summer Drama Program's musical,  at the . The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and includes a cast of thirty students in grades 7-12. The musical features familiar songs such as "Day by Day", "Prepare Ye", "All for the Best", and "Beautiful City".

3. On Powisset Farm this weekend you can get your hands dirty helping to plant, weed, and harvest as part of their Friends in the Fields on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

4. There are several D-S scrimmages on Saturday as the teams prepare for their upcoming seasons. The varsity football team will host a scrimmage at home against Marian High School at 10:00 a.m. The boys varsity soccer team will have a scrimmage at Wellesley High School at 10:00 a.m. while the girls varsity soccer scrimmages at Wellesley at 4:00 p.m.

5. The D-S Boosters are beginning to speak with business sponsors for their 2011 triathlon. Business sponsors get exposure to over 1000 families from many surrounding towns and states.
