Five Things You Need to Know This Weekend: May 12-13

Be sure to check here for useful information about what is going on in Dover and Sherborn this weekend.

1. Several local conservation groups are sponsoring a walk of Barber, Humphrey and Hidden Meadow conservation land Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Barber Reservation (parking across on Stevens Lane) at 9:00 a.m.

Those who would like to attend are asked to dress in long pants with a long sleeve shirt, and to bring bug spray and a water bottle.

Walk with Phil Benjamin, a licensed forester, who will discuss the different ecological habitats of Barber Reservation, Humphrey, and Hidden Meadow and how the lands can be better managed.

2. The Boggestow Garden Club of Sherborn will be on the lawn of the Town Hall selling geraniums on Saturday - the day before Mother's Day - and in time for Memorial Day. There will be a large display of nine outstanding geranium colors from purple sizzle to extreme rose to violet and more. Geraniums will be sold in 12" tubs and  10" pots. There will also be Guinean impatiens in 10" hangers available.

Proceeds from the sale support civic beautification project of the Boggestow Garden Club of Sherborn.

3. The varsity sailing team will have a meet Saturday at Donald Greene. Time to be determined.

4. Take out your stretchy pants and yoga mats for yoga at Unity Hall at the Unitarian Universalist Area Church at First Parish in Sherborn on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

5. Ever think your kids could learn Chinese in Dover? The Dover Town Library is teaching Mandarin Chinese through music, songs, and games for kids of almost all ages! The program is free and no registration is required. There are two sessions on Saturday: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 for kids ages 6-months to 4-years-olds; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for 8-year-olds to 12-year-olds.
