Five Things You Need to Know This Weekend: May 19-20

Be sure to check here for useful information about what is going on in Dover and Sherborn this weekend.

1. The Dover-Sherborn Gridiron Club will hold a “Touch-a-Truck” party at on Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children will be able to sit in the driver’s seat and play on the following trucks: two fire trucks, a police car, a dump truck, a concrete mixer, a concrete pumper truck, a backhoe, a bulldozer, a mini-excavator, a Cherry-picker bucket truck, a street-sweeper, a garbage truck, and an antique Lamborghini. The event will feature food and drinks as well. Tickets are $10 per child and will be available at the event. Proceeds benefit the Dover-Sherborn Gridiron Club.

3. The annual PMC Dover-Sherborn Kids Ride will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, at the Dover–Sherborn Middle School at 155 Farm Street, in Dover. The PMC Dover-Sherborn Kids Ride expects 200 children, ages 3 to 14 to ride one of three routes. There is a $15 registration fee. Riders are encouraged to raise a minimum amount according to their chosen route: for the Tot Ride, the minimum is $50; for all other rides, the minimum is $100. A party will be held  after the ride, which will include refreshments, music, games, raffle, and more.  Proceeds from the PMC Kids Rides help fund the Jimmy fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  To register, visit http://kids.pmc.org. 3.Two Bean Productions Presents: "Ramona Quimby" at the on Sat., May 19 at 2:00 p.m.  Ramona Quimby is based on Beverly Cleary's "Beezus and Ramona" series of books. Proceeds will benefit the Dover Sherborn HS Time Out for Kids Club, a dedicated group of HS students who help children who are less fortunate. Tickets are $15.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.ticketstage.com.

4. The Powisset Farm Spring Festival and Seedling Sale will take place Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Powisset Farm will kick off the farming season with farm tours, guided nature walks, live music, projects for kids, seedling sale, and vendors selling plants, crafts and food. This event is free.

5. Get your walking shoes on for a Wylde Woods Walk on Saturday May from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Dover Open Space Committee invites you to join them for a walk through Wylde Woods guided by Jerry Arnold and Amey Moot.  There will be two groups, a short walk for kids and a longer walk. Meet at the parking turn off just past 105 Centre Street. The walk will be held in misty rain to shine.
