Grab & Go Kids Planner: Seasonal Events

Holiday festivals, movies and gingerbread houses are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Parent Talk will hold their Frosty's Festival on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Parent Talk Playspace, located at the Caryl Center, 4 Springdale Ave., Dover. There will be crafts and activities for children, a North Pole express mailbox for letters to Santa and photo-ops with Santa and Mrs. Claus and other winter friends. This event is free to ParentTalk members and $5 per child for non-members (children under 12 months get in free). For more information, email president@parenttalk.info.
  • Showcase Cinemas De Lux located at Patriot Place in Foxborough will feature the holiday comedy classic "Home Alone" on Sat. Dec., 17 at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free with a donation of non-perishable food item to benefit a local food pantry.
  • Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk will hold a Turtle Trekkers Program, Sat., Dec. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join a Stony Brook teacher on the trails and learn about nature. This fun event will also include crafts, activities and lots of laughter. This month's theme: Terrific Turkeys!  This program is suited for children of the ages 2.9 to 6 with a parent.  Pre-registration is required for all programs. Stony Brook is located at 108 North St. in Norfolk. Admission is $8 for member and $10 for non-members per adult/child pair.
  • , located at 293 Moose Hill St. in Sharon, invites the family to a Winter Search Walk on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 3 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Have your nature questions answered during an interpretative Sunday Saunter walk. Walks are cancelled in inclement weather. Admission is free.
  • This is the last weekend to start a yearly holiday tradition while creating lasting memories at the 10th annual child/parent gingerbread house classes at in Medfield, MA.  During this 1-1/2 class, each parent-child team will receive all the supplies needed to create their own large gingerbread house to take home.  Each class is instructed under the guidance of one of Zebra's pastry chefs and staff.  Classes will be held on Sat., Dec. 16 at 11:30 a.m. and Sun., Dec. 17th at 9:00 am and 11:30 a.m.  Tickets are limited and sold online only; no tickets will be sold at the door.  Tickets are $50.00 which covers one child and one parent team.  The price for each additional child is $20.00.  Tickets are available HERE.
