Grab & Go Kids Planner: Feb. 17- 19

Storytime, skating movies and crafts are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall will hold a story time on Fri., Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. This week's featured children's book is "All Kinds of Kisses" by Nancy Tafuri.  Admission is Free.
  • AWANA, a Bible based club for children ages 3 to grade 5, will be held Fri., Feb. 17 at the Trinity Community Church, located at 234 Walpole St., in Norwood at 6:30 p.m. More information about AWANA can be found HERE.
  • Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk will hold a Turtle Trekkers Program, Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join a Stony Brook teacher on the trails and learn about nature. This fun event will also include crafts, activities and lots of laughter. This month's theme: Exploring Shadows/ Let It Snow.  This program is suited for children of the ages 2.9 to 6 with a parent.  Pre-registration is required for all programs.   • Medfield residents can enjoy Winter Skate at Patriot Place at a discounted price thru February 20. Skaters need simply to show proof of residency during their town’s week at the Winter Skate counter to receive a $2 discount off admission. Skating hours are Fridays 3 to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays and all school holidays form 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Standard skating price is $8 for adults and $6 for children under 12 and seniors 65 and over. On-site skate rentals are $4. Winter Skate is located at Patriot Place, adjacent to Route 1, near the Renaissance Hotel & Spa.
  • Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill, located at 293 Moose Hill St. in Sharon, invites the family to join Kim Calcagno of Audubon of Rhode Island for an indoor slide presentation about owls followed by a visit with two live owls on Sat., Feb. 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This program is suitable for adults and children age 4 and up with an adult. Pre-registration is required for this program.
