Grab & Go Kids Planner: Jan 6 - Jan 8

Medfield Reads Kick-Off, Nature & Skating are on the agenda for this weekend.

  • Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall will hold a story time on Fri., Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m. This week's featured theme is "Let It Snow" featuring the books, "The Snowy Day" by Erza Jack Keats and "Snow" by Uri Shulevitz.  Admission is Free.
  • Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk will hold a Turtle Trekkers Program, Sat., Jan. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join a Stony Brook teacher on the trails and learn about nature. This fun event will also include crafts, activities and lots of laughter. This month's theme: Tracks, Who's Been Here?  This program is suited for children of the ages 2.9 to 6 with a parent.  Pre-registration is required for all programs. Stony Brook is located at 108 North St. in Norfolk. Admission is $10 for member and $12 for non-members per adult/child pair.
  • will Kick-Off their Medfield Reads Program on Sun., Jan. 8 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The afternoon will feature music from 'Notorious', refreshments and fun for the whole family. 'Notorious' features musicians Eden MacAdam Somer and Larry Unger who perform mountain music from the old country and the new world. Medfield Reads is year-long program based on the book “Outwitting History” which celebrates the cultures and history that make up the town of Medfield. Admission is free event and open for everyone.
  • The in Norwood will hold a Mom's Play Group on Fri., Jan. 6 at 9:15 a.m. Begin the new year by meeting new moms while your child gets to run, jump and play with other children. Bring a snack for your child to enjoy while you enjoy a cup of free coffee after gym time is over. No registration is required. Admission $5.00.
  • Winter Skate at in Foxborough is now open.  With a beautiful weekend on tap, grab your skates and take the family to the Ice Rink on Fri. from 4pm-11 pm,  Sat. from 11am - 11pm. and Sun. 11 am - 9:00 pm  Admission - Adults: $8, Children 12 and under: $6,  Seniors 65 and up: $6. Ice skate rentals are $4.00.
