Grab & Go Kids Planner: June 1-3

Some kid friendly fun for the weekend.

  • Barnes and Noble in the Walpole Mall will hold a story time on Fri., June 1 at 10:30 a.m. This week's featured children's book is "Silly Doggy" by Adam Stower.  Admission is Free.
  • The Medfield New N' Towne will hold a Big Rig Festival on Saturday, June 2nd from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Parking Lot. There will be all kinds of big rigs and utility vehicles on display for children to touch, climb and explore. Blow the horn on a fire engine, sit in a police squad car or climb in a cement mixer.  In the event of rain, the event will be held at the Medfield Town Garage located at 55 N. Meadows Road. This event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased on festival day for $5.00.
  • Dale Street Students of Medfield are invited to the free Shine Program on Sat. June 2nd from 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the SHINE is a free program offering one-time classes in art, music, drama, and more. The program is run entirely by students from Medfield High School. This event is free and is offered to Dale St. School students.
  • The Dover Police Association will host their annual family Open House at the , 3 Walpole St, Dover, on Sunday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Take a tour of the police station, including the Emergency Communications Center, Booking & Jail Cells, and Firearms Range. There will be a Police K9 demonstration and the MetroLEC SWAT Command Post will be on display throughout the day.  All are invited to this free family event featuring an outdoor cookout, including a dunk tank and moonwalks. Admission is Free.
  • Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk will hold a Turtle Trekkers Program, Sat., June 2 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join a Stony Brook teacher on the trails and learn about nature. This fun event will also include crafts, activities and lots of laughter. The theme for this event is "Pond Animals". This program is suited for children 2 years and 9 months old to 6 years old with a parent. Pre-registration is required for all programs.
