Week In Review: April 18-April 24

Local Boston Marathon runners, Peace Abbey progress, and an outstanding young volunteer.

There was a lot going on this week with Patriots' Day, Earth Day, Easter, and D-S students on spring vacation.

The 115th running of the Boston Marathon was on Monday and we followed the progress of two Dover residents and one runner from Sherborn, .

We interviewed Sherborn resident Kevin Bloom who was at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Bloom, who plays music for children in the pediatrics unit at the hospital, was the youngest-ever to receive the award which has been given for over 30 years.

The Sherborn since they announced that they need raise $366,000 by the end of May in order to avoid foreclosure. They have been recieving checks in the mail every day from supporters, including a check for $2500 from actor Matt Damon.

Dover underwent an this week by the Norfolk County Mosquito Control Project. The treatment is meant to help control the mosquito larvae.

The Sherborn Planning Board in preparation for next week's Town Meeting. They removed articles 21 and 22 due to a suggestion by the Advisory Committee that they be pulled because of the language of the articles. With Town Meeting coming up in both Dover and Sherborn we have some that you can brush up on to help you be better prepared.

This weekend was very busy with on Saturday and Easter on Sunday. If you are looking for a place to attend an Easter service in Dover and Sherborn, are some of the services that will be going on in both towns.
