Weekend Planner: Sept. 2-4

Showcase Live concerts, Farm stand and turtle trekkers on the calendar this weekend.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don’t cut it anymore, then don't worry, Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. Rad Bromance – A Rock Tribute to Lady Gaga at Showcase Live

Where/When: 23 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Friday, Sept. 2, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a fun filled, high energy night with all male, all rock Lady Gaga Tribute Band, “Rad Bromance” and special guest Evan Russell Saffer.

 Doors open at 6 for 8 p.m. showtime. Standing room only.

2.  Gallagher at Showcase Live

When/Where: 23 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Saturday, Sept. 3, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: World-Famous comedian Gallagher will bring his show to Showcase Live Saturday. Doors open at 6 for 7:30 p.m. showtime. Seating is on a first come first seated basis, so be sure to arrive early for dinner and best seats.

3.  Powisset Farm Stand at Rocky Woods

Where/When: 50 Hartford St., Medfield; Saturday, Sept. 3, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Powisset Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture Farm (CSA) in Dover. Check out the weekend farm stand at Rocky Woods Reservation on Hartford Street in Medfield. Farm fresh vegetables are available for purchase along with a chance to meet your local farmers. Learn about local and seasonal eating and explore community connections.

4. Norwood Sunday Evening Concerts on the Common: South Shore Circus Band

Where/When: Norwood Town Common, Washington and Nathan Streets, Norwood; Sunday, Sept. 4, 7 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Stop by the Norwood Town Common on Sunday for a free concert. All concerts are a rain or shine event and concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Pricing: Free.

5. Turtle Trekkers Program at Stony Brook

Where/When: 108 North St, Norfolk (Stony Brook); Saturday, Sept. 3, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Start your weekend off right with a fun and knowledgeable Stony Brook teacher on the trails learning about nature. There will be crafts, activities and lots of laughter.  Ages 2 to 6 must be accompanied with a parent. Pre-registration is required for all programs.
