DS Alpine Ski Team to show ski movie, "WINTER"

On Thursday, December 20 at 7PM, the Dover Sherborn Alpine Ski Team will be showing the movie, "WINTER" at the Mudge Auditorium in Lindquist Commons. Tickets are $10 per person and are available in advance through any ski team member. Tickets will also be sold at the door starting at 6:45PM. In addition to showing the movie, the team will also be raffling off a pair of RAMP skis, a mountain bike donated by Landry's Bicycles and many other items donated by local merchants and ski and snowboard companies.

"WINTER" is an original feature length film produced by the Ski Channel. It has some of the world’s best athletes as its stars, including record holding skiers, cliff huckers, human flyers, mountain climbers and the bravest of dare devils. From park & pipe to backcountry, big air to racing, you'll see some of the best. Athletes like Ted Ligety, Rory Bushfield, Simon Dumont, Steve and Phil Mahre, Jen Hudak, Ted Davenport, the 10th Mountain Division are just some of the people featured. The movie also showcases the late and beloved 5 time X-Games freeskier, Canadian Sarah Burke, who passed away January 19th, 2012, shortly after the world premier of "WINTER."  Her passion for skiing and for the mountains continues to live on, pushing and inspiring female athletes to accomplish more than ever in the industry.

"WINTER" will appeal to all audiences, young and old, skiers and snowboarders, climbers and flyers. Gather the family together, grab some friends and come support the DS Alpine Ski Team. All proceeds go to the team to help offset training and equipment costs.
