Dog Lives After Falling from Cliff in Dover

The dog suffered internal injuries and is recovering after surgery.

A 5-year-old dog named Sammy survived a 40-foot fall off a cliff in Dover this past weekend, according to a report on Boston.CBSlocal.com.

The incident took place at Noanet Woods in Dover, where local resident Paul Finnegan took his dog, Fiona, and Sammy, who belongs to his sister-in-law, according to the report. 

Officer Jon Cash, as well as another officer, hoisted Sammy to safety, having tied a tow rope to his harness, and pulling him up.

Sammy suffered serious internal injuries, but is now recovering after undergoing surgery on Tuesday, according to the report.
