Sherborn Garden Club Makes Spring Come Alive
SGC members come together to carry on their mission of community outreach.
May was a busy month for members of the Sherborn Garden Club. From desserts and crafts to planting beautiful spring flowers, members worked hard to carry out the mission of the club.
On May 3rd, members of the Community Education Committee went to the COA luncheon held at Pilgrim Church. Each year, the committee provides a garden related craft for the seniors. This year, they did not disappoint! Glorious dried herbs and flowers were set out for the seniors to make their own sachets. First, they chose from a variety of stamps to decorate their sachets and then filled them with a mixture of lavender, rose and eucalyptus. SGC members also provided home baked desserts to enjoy during their activity.
Then, it was the annual spring cleanup and planting day on May 15th. Every spring members devote time and energy on each of the islands throughout Sherborn. Weeding, pruning, planting, and general cleanup are among the jobs that the SGC members perform to bring beauty to the town of Sherborn. The Sherborn Garden Club continues their hard work throughout the summer by watering and weeding to keep these islands thriving.
