Friends of Dover Council on Aging Launches New Website

The website will have information on events and programs held by the Friends.

The following was provided by Joan Panek.

Joan Panek, President of The Friends of the Dover Council on Aging, announces that the Friends have launched a brand-new website, www.coafriends.org.

This very attractive, easy-to-use website will give the community information on the events and programs that are planned to raise money to support the services and activities of the Council on Aging.

Only two years old, the Friends have already had several successful events and have many more planned for the 2012-13 year.

The Friends are funding the Bird Walk on May 15th at Broadmoor Santuary in Natick. This will be a slideshow and talk by Broadmoor Director, Elissa Landre, followed by a walk along the boardwalk and farther as attendees wish. Interested people should contact the Dover COA for more information.

The Friends will have a table again this year at the Dover Days Fair in September. They will be selling certificates to be redeemed for any product in the Honey Baked Ham catalog, at any Honey Baked Ham store. This event was very successful last year.

In October, the Friends will host a Jazz Brunch again, and in November there will be a town-wide fundraising mailing. All donations are tax deductable as the Friends is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Visit the website for more information and links to the websites of the Council on Aging, the MA Department of Elder Affairs, and to the Friends Blog, which is where topics pertinent to Dover seniors are discussed.
