Election season musings from the DRTC (Dover Republican Town Committee) - at least from one committee member - this one on MEDISCARE
Former Democratic National Committee Howard Dean when asked whether Obamacare cuts to Medicare would hurt his party's standing with seniors acknowledged the cuts as real, but said Romney couldn't make an issue of the cuts because "nobody believes it. You can't convince people that a Democrat's going to cut Medicare. They don't believe that." Then this week California Democratic chief John Burton said Republicans lie and don't care whether people know they are lying, "As long as you lie, Joseph Goebbels, the big lie, you keep repeating it." But look who's fudging. Obamacare takes $714billion from Medicare over the next nine years affecting EXISTING Medicare recipients with cutbacks, threatening many millions of current seniors with loss of their Medicare Advantage plans. Furthermore, the Medicare Chief Actuary says Obama's Medicare cuts will cause Medicare providers to be paid less than Medicaid providers by the end of this decade, making it more difficult for seniors to find medical professionals willing to work for these reduced fees. Ryan's plan affects no one 55 or older. Democratic politicians have been salivating at the prospect of hanging the charge of "Ending Medicare as We Know It" on Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney. Turns out Obamacare has ALREADY pushed Granny off the cliff. Maybe the election will hinge on the economy after all. See ya 'round the campus. Cheers.
