Dover Police Log: A Stolen Camera, Illegal Dumping and Downed Wires

The following information was provided by the Dover Police Department for the week of June 25-July 2. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 25

Mailbox Damaged (10:39 a.m.) - A Village Hill Road resident reported to the that between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. someone had pulled a tray from his mailbox and ripped a the Boston Globe box off the side of the mailbox, causing minor damage. Both the mailbox and newspaper box were thrown on his lawn.

Rocks Thrown at Window (1:33 a.m.) - A Walpole Street resident reported that an individual had been throwing rocks at his windows. Officers responded to the area and observed a vehicle leaving the neighborhood.

Tree on Wires (12:43 p.m.) - Police responded to Mill Street on a report of a tree that fell and was seen leaning on secondary electrical wires. NSTAR was notified of the incident.

Wires Down (4:39 p.m.) - A Forest Street resident reported that a tree limb fell on nearby power lines and took them down between a utility pole and her house. NSTAR was notified of the incident. 

Larceny Over $250 (9:19 p.m.) - Police received a report from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society that a digital camera had been stolen from the property and that it had been posted for sale on Craigslist.org. The matter is under investigation.

Friday, June 29

Suspicious Activity (3:49 p.m.) - A resident of Normandie Road reported to Police that a white male in his 50s wearing a light-colored shirt and khaki pants and a red lanyard had parked in his driveway before quickly walking up to the house and leaving upon seeing the resident of the home. Police checked the area but no one was on the scene upon arrival. 

Saturday, June 30

Illegal Dumping (4:37 p.m.) - A Chickering Drive resident reported that someone had dumped masonry debris and broken tiles on the side of the roadway in the area.
