Dover Police Log: Bear Cub Spotted by Jogger, iPad at the Transfer Station

The following information was provided by the Dover Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, Aug. 13 

IPad Lost, Then Found (9:08 a.m.) - A local resident asked Dover Police to see if an iPad she accidentally left in the 's "swap shop" was still there. Officers checked the area and were able to locate the device, which was later returned to the owner. 

Missing Person Reported Safe (9:04 p.m.) - A Pine Street resident reported to police that her father was overdue from coming home from Westport; police checked a variety of local areas for him and were able to locate him after a general broadcast for his whereabouts. He was reported safe.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

Bear Cub Spotted (6:05 p.m.) - An individual reported to police that at about 7:30 p.m., an unknown jogger in the woods on Dedham Street said that he had seen a bear cub on the orange trail of Noanet Woodlands. The information was passed along to the Dover Animal Control Officer.  

Wednesday, Aug. 15 

Graffiti at Middle School (5 a.m.) - Police received a report of graffiti spray painted on the outside wall of the Dover-Sherborn Regional Middle School. Specifically, two spots of graffiti were reported at the middle school, while three to four spots were reported at . 

Friday, Aug. 17

Potentially-Rabid Fox (4:43 p.m.) - Police received a report from an individual on Cross Street by the that a fox was spotted by the roadway near the school. The individual said she believed the fox was rabid, according to reports.  

Sunday, Aug. 19

Wellesley Woman Arrested for Drunk Driving (2:24 a.m.) - Police arrested a Wellesley woman for driving under the influence of liquor, being a person under the age of 21 while transporting liquor, and speeding. A municipal citation was issued to the woman for possession of marijuana under one ounce.
