Dover Police Log: Elevator Stuck, Stolen Property and Underage Drinking

The following information was provided by the Dover Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, August 19

Receiving Stolen Property (8:45 p.m.) - The Medfield Police contacted the Dover Police after recovering a Taylor Ln. street sign during a motor vehicle stop.

Tuesday, August 21

Animal Complaint (5:11 p.m.) - A caller reported a dog running in and out of traffic on Walpole St. The party was able to pick up the dog and bring it to safety out of traffic, and officers helped bring it back to its owner.

Wednesday, August 22

Elevator Stuck (2:40 p.m.) - A 9-1-1 call came in from the Caryl Community House on Springdale Ave. reporting that people were stuck in the elevator. Officers were able to free the people, while the fire department and wiring inspectors shut it down for the rest of the day.

Saturday, August 25

Assault & Battery (12:30 a.m.) - A Hartford St. resident called to report that he had gotten into a physical altercation with his neighbor. The altercation occure after a verbal argument in which the caller was reportedly threatened. Officers were dispatched to speak to both parties in order to keep the peace.

Underage Drinking (10:12 p.m.) - A routine motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Wilsondale St. and Strawberry Hill St. led to three people being arrested for being in possession of alcohol while under the age of 21. Two of the parties in the car were also charged with open container violations.
