Dover Police Log: When a Dog Attacks

The following information was provided by the Dover Police Department. When arrests are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, November 9

Deer Hit (4:29 p.m.) - A caller reported that a car hit a deer on Centre St. The officer who responded reported that the deer ran back into the woods and the car's license plate was left behind.

Dog Attack (7:44 p.m.) - A caller from Rolling Ln. reported that while out for a walk with her husband they were attacked by a dog that got out of its yard by getting past the electric fence. The caller stated that this has been an ongoing issue. An officer spoke with the dog owner, who stated that they didn't know it was an ongiong issue, but would replace the collar. The owner also said they would increase their effort to make sure it didn't happen again.

Raccoon (3:29 p.m.) - A Forest St. resident called to report a raccoon in her backyard. She would like the raccoon removed. The animal control officer was contacted.

Noise (10:30 p.m.) A caller reported a loud party going on at Elm Bank. Officers responded and reported that there was a wedding going on and that they are lowering the music.
