Dover Police Logs: Fireworks, Exchanging Copper and a Drug Violation

The following information was issued by the Dover Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, July 15

Crash on Centre Street (9:49 p.m.) - Dover Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Centre Street and Claybrook Road. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The operator of one of the vehicles, a Jeep, was transported to Beth Israel hospital in Needham for evaluation. The Dover Fire Department was on scene to clean up a fluid spill as a result of the accident.  

Unwanted Person at Hale (6:43 p.m.) - Police received a report from staff at Hale Reservation that a party was refusing to leave the property. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with an individual that if they are to ignore the property's rules again, the would be subject to arrest for trespassing.

Saturday, July 14

Underage Drinking (12:57 a.m.) - Police responded to Cedar Hill Road, where they spoke with multiple youths and subsequently confiscated alcohol; a criminal application was filed for the youths for procuring alcohol under the age of 21.

Friday, July 13 

Fireworks Complaint (9:46 p.m.) - A Walpole Street resident reported to Dover Police that she heard what sounded like gun shots coming from the Wood Ridge area. Upon arrival, officers determined the noise to be coming from fireworks. 

Possible Copper Exchange (6:50 p.m.) - Police received a report from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society of drivers in a Blue Chevrolet Cavalier and Chevy S10 exchanging copper near the property's boat landing. A pedestrian in the area later stated that the vehicles left the area before police received the initial report, according to police reports.

Thursday, July 12

Beer and a Fireplace (8:03 p.m.) - An Old Farm Road resident reported to police that upon arrival home from vacation, a beer was located in the bushes of the home and a fireplace had been set up. 

Monday, July 9

Drug Violation (8:54 p.m.) - Police issued a civil citation to a driver on Cedar Hill Road for not having a proper inspection sticker, driving with defective equipment (license plate lights) and driving without a registration. A municipal citation was also issued to the driver and a passenger for possession of marijuana.
