Dover Police Logs: Gunshots, Outdoor Restroom Use and Pit Bull Attacks

Sunday , July 29 

Gunshots Heard (9:51 p.m.) - Dover Police received a report from the Medfield Police Department regarding gunshots, which were heard in the area of Rocky Woods and Hartford Street. Dover Police checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone. 

Erratic Operation (7:42 p.m.) - An individual on Centre Street reported that a white pickup truck had been driving erratically. Specifically, the tailgate of the truck was down and youths were hanging off, according to reports. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle, and determined he had been pulling youths on skateboard. The driver was advised to stop.

Wires Down on Dedham Street (5:40 p.m.) - Police responded to Dedham Street on multiple calls for a transformer explosion with wires hanging down in the road. Nstar was notified.

Cyclist on Wight Street (11:56 a.m.) - A Dover police officer reported speaking with a cyclist on Wight Street who allegedly hurried out of the woods when he saw the officer's cruiser. The officer reported advising the cyclist to not use the woods as a restroom. 

Friday, July 27

Pit Bull Attacks (8:29 a.m.) - A Draper Road resident reported that a pit bull from a neighbor's property had been attacking her dog in her driveway. Upon arrival, the pit bull had run back to its residence. The dog was not under the control of its owner and was almost struck by a car as it ran into the roadway, according to reports. 

Wednesday, July 25

Another Pit Bull Report (2 p.m.) - Police received another report of a harassing Pit Bull, one that surrounded a female walking another neighbor's dog in the middle of the road. The female dog walker was unknown to her but she allegedly screamed before the pit bull owner came to retrieve his two dogs. Neither dog was described as being on a leash or in the control of the owner, according to reports. No injuries were described to have occurred.
