Dover Police Logs: Teens Playing Manhunt, Report of Gunshot Sounds Around Home

The Dover Police Department provided the following information. Patch prints all arrests. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 22

4:24 p.m.: A caller reported a deer was struck on Dedham St.

5:11 p.m.: Police responded to a call of a woman who observed four teenagers crouching in the bushes of her home on Yorkshire Dr., before fleeing on foot. An officer found the teenagers who were playing Manhunt.

Tuesday, July 23

2:57 p.m.: Police were called to a fire alarm on Walpole St. There was smoke on the second floor, which turned out to be an accident by those working there.

9:15 p.m.: Large branches were reported down on Farm St. An officer moved the limbs from the roadway to clear for traffic.

Wednesday, July 24

12:36 p.m.: A minor car accident was reported on Turtle Ln. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, July 25

9:58 p.m.: A caller reported hearing gun shots or fireworks going off on Main St. Caller stated someone maybe traveling around and firing fireworks off from a vehicle. Police checked the area with negative results.

10:26 p.m.: Another caller reported hearing gunshots on Hales Hollow Rd., one near their house and one even closer to their house. Police checked the neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods, but nothing was found. 

Saturday, July 27

9:56 a.m.: A caller reported a sick looking fox on Sherbrooke Dr. Police couldn’t find animal, and Animal Control was notified.

5:37 p.m.: A four-car accident was reported at the police station. The accident occurred on Centre St. and Whiting Rd. No injuries were reported, but one driver was cited for failure to use care and caution when starting and stopping his or her car.
