Icy Road Conditions Cause Accidents In Sherborn

A man driving a Honda sedan was taken to the hospital after hitting a telephone pole this morning. Another operator was uninjured after a roll over from slipping on ice.

Wet and icy road conditions appear to have been the cause of two accidents this morning in Sherborn.

A 46-year-old man was taken to Metro West Medical Center in Framingham due to injuries he sustained after hitting a telephone pole at the corner of Whitney Street and Whitney Drive this morning.

"It appears that the vehicle slid on ice," said Sherborn police officer James Graziano.

Graziano said the crash is still under investigation, but that speed or alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time.

About an hour later, at 7:30 a.m., a vehicle rolled over after hitting a patch of ice on South Main Street near the Sherborn/Medfield line.

There were no injuries, according to Graziano.

More details about the roll over were unavailable at this time because the accident report has not been completed.
