Sherborn Police Department Hires Two New Officers

The following was provided by Sherborn Police Chief Richard Thompson.

The Town of Sherborn Police Department is pleased to announce the addition of two new academy trained police officers; Officer Jack Coffey and Officer Brian D'Amico. Officer Coffey and Officer D'Amico are replacing two positions vacated by the retirement of Officer Joseph Waugh and the decision by Officer David Lambirth to accept a postition with the Massachusetts State Police.

Officer Jack Coffey is an eleven year veteran police professional who transferred from the Town of Mendon and Officer Brian D'Amico is a five year veteran police professional who transferred from the City of Northampton. Officer Coffey and Officer D'Amico were chosen from a candidate pool of twenty-plus applicants after being subjected to an oral interview panel and a comprehensive background investigation. Officer Coffey and Officer D'Amico bring to the Town of Sherborn a great amount of professional experience and care, compassion, and commitment to their profession. Both officers are welcomed additions to Police Department and our community and I know they will apply the same care, compassion and commitment they have for their profession to our community and the residents we serve.
