Sherborn Police Logs: An OUI Arrest, a Noisy Chainsaw and Power Lines Aflame

Monday, July 30
Suspicious Activity (10:44 p.m.) - Sherborn Police received a report of a yellow Smart Car being parked on the side of the road near Ash Lane. An individual jogging by the area called in to report seeing a male party behind the wheel of the vehicle. Police responded and determined the driver was simply making a phone call.
Chainsaw Disturbance (6:13 p.m.) - A North Main Street resident reported to police that a neighbor in the area had been running his chainsaw at "all hours of the night," according to reports. The resident reported to police that the neighbor had been doing this for three years from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Police advised the resident that there is no noise bylaw in Sherborn, but the matter was filed as a report.

Power Line on Fire (9:03 a.m.) - Police received a report of a power line on fire in the area. NStar was notified of the issue.

Saturday, July 28
Erratic BMW (3:03 p.m.) - Police received a report of a BMW X5 with Vermont license plates speeding in the area of South Main Street.
Friday, July 27
Driver Arrested (8:15 p.m.) - Police arrested a Sherborn woman on Goulding Street for driving under the influence of liquor (third offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.
Thursday, July 26
Stolen Bike (6:27 p.m.) - Police received a report from a Hunting Lane resident that a black bicycle was stolen from his property sometime overnight.
Living Off the Tracks (3:14 p.m.) - Police received a report from a Prospect Street resident that someone may be living in the woods off the railroad tracks in the area. The reporting party described finding a homemade shelter with solar panels. Upon arrival, police could not locate any individuals, and reported that it did not appear anyone was living there.
