Sherborn Police to Host Department Open House

One of the events on Saturday will include Sherborn Police Chief Richard Thompson being voluntarily tased by a stun gun.

The Sherborn Police Association will be hosting their first open house of the newly renovated Sherborn Police Department this weekend.

Last year a pipe burst in the police station causing severe flooding and water damage to the building. The department would like to show off the improvements made to the station which includes their new communications center.

The event will include several activities such as behind the scenes guided tours of the station, demonstrations with police cruisers, a look inside one of State Police's armored vehicles called a Bearcat, a meet and greet with some of the dogs from the State Police K-9 unit, medical demonstrations with dummies and to top it all off Police Chief Richard Thompson will be voluntarily tased by 50,000 volts of electricity from one of the department's tasers at the end of the day.
