Students Spot Man with Gun Outside a Sherborn Elementary School

Police were searching the woods near Pine Hill Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were searching the woods near Pine Hill Elementary School in Sherborn on Wednesday afternoon after two students reported seeing a man with a gun at about 12:45 p.m., according to the Boston Globe.

The school was in lockdown, and all students were accounted for, according to the report.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 3 p.m., according to Fox 25's Scott Tetreault. Natick Police cleared the scene at about 3:15 p.m., and students were allowed to leave shortly after, NECN's Katelyn Flint reported.

The school is located on Pine Hill Lane, according to NECN.

Massachusetts State Police had a helicopter up looking for the man and assisted Sherborn and Natick police with the search.
