Dover Library: One of the Best Small Libraries in the County

The Library Journal praised the Dover Library for its commitment to technology.

 
The Dover Library was a runner-up in the Library Journal's best small libraries in America contest.

First place went to The Independence Library of Kansas, who survived drastic budgets cut in 2009 to be a success in its community.

Dover was praised for its commitment to technology with the development of a tech center.

“I really liked that they rid themselves of their ‘fortress style reference desk’ and appreciated their finding ways to encourage behavior other libraries would simply ban,” says judge Paul Paladino.

The Library Journal also praised the Dover Library for making it a destination in the community.
